Sue Hardee

Sue Hardee pictureMrs. Sue Hardee, age 71, of Lovelady, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the Houston County Nursing Home in Crockett.  She was born July 6, 1942 in Freeport and had lived in Lovelady most of her lifetime, previously living in Jacinto County.  Mrs. Hardee was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She loved quilting and sewing.

Survivors include husband, Joe Hardee of Lovelady; daughter, Bobbie Perry and husband, Stuart of Crockett; son, Billy Hardee of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Josh Perry of Italy, TX, Kassandra Morgan and husband, Toby of Arlington, Jenna Perry of Nacogdoches, Jonathon Hardee of Grand Prairie, Nathaniel Hardee of Grand Prairie; great-grandchild, Jordyn Morgan of Arlington; very special niece/daughter, Carol Rice of Dayton; brother, Sonny Ackley and wife, Laura of Alvin; aunt, Rita Keels; very special sister-in-law, Zenith Ackley of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Loyce Ackley; brother, Danny Ackley; sisters, Jonell Dann, Pat Hamby and two infant siblings.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Hardee will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Zenith Ackley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Creek Cemetery.  Family will receive friends Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michelle Lynn Holsey Foundation, P. Bubba Morgan

Bubba Morgan pictureBubba Morgan, age 42, of Athens, previously of Crockett, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 in the East Texas Medical Center in Athens,  He was born November 7, 1971 in Madisonville and had been living in Athens.  Bubba was active in the Houston County 4-H showing cattle and rabbits.  He enjoyed fishing and had worked as an equipment operator in the oilfield industry.

Survivors include mother, Martha Clevenger and husband, Don of Athens; father, Tommy Morgan and wife, Becky of Crockett; step-brothers, Daniel Long of Crockett, James Morgan of Crockett; aunts and uncles, Patricia Arnold and husband, Jimmy of Woodsboro, Henry Stephens and wife, Donna of Nacogdoches, Sherri Rivers and husband, Floyd of Groveton, Kelly Stephens and wife, Deidra of Crockett, Ollie Morgan of Plano, Ray Morgan and wife, Sissy of Central; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Preceded in death by grandparents, Benny Roe and Mattie Morgan; grandparents, Lois and Haskell Stephens; uncles, Dale Stephens, Roger Stephens, Norman Stephens and grandparents, Rayford and Winnie Campbell.

Edith Nettles Estachy

Edith Estachy pictureMrs. Edith Nettles Estachy, age 86, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett.  She was born August 26, 1927 in the Creek Community and had been living in Leon County, previously living in Houston.  Mrs. Estachy was retired having been employed by the City of Houston Health Department.  She was a lifetime member of the Georgia Camp Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband, Paul Estachy of Centerville; daughters, Linda Joy Sands Cantu of Houston, Suzanne Smith and husband, Doyce of Shreveport, Louisiana, Denise Moreno and husband, Pete of Round Rock; sons, Bill Metzroth and wife, Karen of Lake Jackson, Louisiana, Charles Metzroth of Houston; daughter, Eva Elizabeth Owen and husband, Mark of Pataskala, Ohio; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Preceded in death by son, Robert Estachy; parents, Edward Franklin and Eva Elizabeth Nettles; brothers, William Nettles, V. O. Nettles; sisters, Iva Applewhite and Georgia Metzroth.

J. B. Evans

January 7, 2014

Mr. J. B. Evans, age 72, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin.  He was born June 30, 1941 in Kilgore and had lived in Huntington since 1972.  Mr. Evans was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He had worked as a grocery and bakery manager.  Mr. Evans enjoyed antiques, resale shops and fishing.  He attended the Victory Assembly of God.

Survivors include wife, Linda Evans of Huntington; sister, Norma Brittingham of San Antonio; sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, Jane Hengst of Montgomery, Dorothy Andrews of Katy; brothers-in-law, Melvin McPhail of Wylie, John McPhail of Tuscola; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Preceded in death by parents, James and Viola Evans.

Louise McDonald

Mrs. Louise McDonald, age 83, of Wylie, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Founders Plaza Nursing and Rehab in Wylie.  She was born February 23, 1930 in Pearsons Chapel and had been living in Wylie since 2010.  Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was a retired hairdresser and also a member of the Ash Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughter, Kathy Lowery and husband, Leon of Wylie; son, Freddie McDonald and wife, Judy of Dumas, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dee Dee Phillips and husband, Sammy of San Antonio; Nicole Lanman and husband, Aaron of Wylie; Kelly Henry and husband, Ric of Wylie, Doug Hampton and wife, Brandy of Monticello, Arkansas, John Michael Lowery and wife, Brittany of Wylie; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, George Crowson and wife, Barbara of Lovelady, John Crowson and wife, Jeanette of Holland; sister-in-law, Helen Crowson of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Preceded in death by husband, F. L. “Jr.” McDonald; parents, Cecil and Sulie Crowson; brother, Rayford Crowson and grandson, Michael Hampton.

Joseph Wesley Padgett

Coach PadgettCoach Joseph Wesley Padgett was born in Mathis, TX, February 13, 1958 to Marvin and Jackie Padgett.

Coach Padgett grew up in Corpus Chirsti, TX and was affiliated with the Episcopalian and Lutheran Church; and was a member of Boy Scouts, Little League and the Royal Order of the Moose in his earlier years.

He graduated from Corpus Christi State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree that answered his calling and love for sports.

Coach Padgett had many successful seasons as a baseball coach. His most recent position was with Grapeland High School.

Left to cherish his memories, wife Kathleen Padgett, Grapeland, TX, daughter Alison Padgett, Grapeland, TX, sons Austin Padgett and Fiancée Kacee Ramey, Blooming Grove, TX and Houston Padgett, Corpus Chrisiti, TX.

Services: Wednesday, January 8th, at 2:00 PM. First Baptist Church, Grapeland, TX,  Pastor Todd Nivens, Officiating.

  1. I have had a new goqyezvs I attempt to stay in model with no wanting silly. I like these goqyezvs. They can be no wherever as near in quality, in shape, convenience and longevity–the difference is Day!
